Program Description:
Ready access to the internet and email has changed the workplace in many ways. Employees misuse sophisticated tools like the internet or email to harass or defame their co-workers and even their employers.
Most employees have a misleading sense of privacy about their internet and email communications. However, work is not, by its nature a private thing. Employees supply quite a lot of personal information about themselves and should expect their backgrounds and abilities to be fair game for evaluation and investigation. The same sort of expectations should apply to employee conduct in the electronic workplace.
This program presents the latest techniques for defining the right of privacy in the workplace.
Topics Include:
- Conducting An Access Audit
- Case studies in how employment situations get out of control
- An up to date review of the latest cases on the right of privacy, including Intel v. Hamadi.
- Specific suggestions on revisions to internet and email policies
