Paul Vapnek
Senior Partner,
Mr. Vapnek specializes in litigation of matters pertaining to patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, trade secret and related antitrust law, and in the licensing and prosecution of intellectual property, primarily trademarks and copyrights. He was an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of California, Hastings College of Law for 12 years and is a registered Professional Engineer in New York State. He is a past president of the San Francisco Patent and Trademark Law Association, a past chairman of the Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct of the State Bar of California, and a past member of the Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of California. Mr. Vapnek has published numerous articles, including "Intellectual Property Law Practice in the 1980's: Dealing with the Expectations of a More Informed Clientele," "The Lawyer and Unfair Competition," "Infringement and Remedies Provisions of the New Copyright Law," and "Invention Developers: Public and Private Litigation and Legislative Solutions." He received a B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer in 1951, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1964. ,
