Jim Bloom

After ten years of work with the Oakland Athletics organization, seven in the front office, Jim Bloom was named Director, Consumer Marketing of the Toronto Blue Jays on December 12, 2002. Bloom oversees all of the advertising, promotion, game day entertainment and interactive marketing initiatives for the team.

In Oakland, as Director of Marketing Communications, Bloom worked on the advertising, direct marketing, corporate public relations and the interactive marketing. Starting in 1998, the A’s advertising started to receive notice in the sports world. USA Today’s Baseball Weekly placed the A’s advertising 3rd in its 1998 review and 2nd in the 1999 review of baseball advertising. Adweek honored the A’s with Ad of the Month citations in the month of April for four consecutive years. The National Sports Forum and Team Marketing Report awarded the A’s 1st Place for Television in their Ad-It-Up awards reviewing all sports advertising.

Prior to joining the A’s, Bloom worked in radio as sports director of KFRC and KNEW. He was responsible for the production of pre and post game shows, as well as acting as co-host for the post-game call-in show Extra Innings. Bloom also worked on the broadcasts of the University of California basketball broadcasts from 1993-1995.
